The goals of the State
Ethics Commission as established in the State Ethics Law, State Government Article,
Title 15, are as follows:
- To
insure that the public has the highest trust in its officials and
employees and to assure the public that impartiality and independence of
judgment is maintained.
- To
prevent the conduct of State business from being subject to improper
influence or even the appearance of improper influence.
- To
guard against improper influence by administering public disclosure
programs and a program establishing standards of conduct for employees and
officials.
